| Winch/Jack receiver
4 ALL FOURS have now added a third design to their range of Receiver Brackets, one to fit the Discovery 200 the other for 300 Tdi and those with a front oil gearbox oil cooler . This later design does not affect the crush can operation (unless an attachment is in operation). The latest is a Receiver for the Defender range.
The Receiver frame can be supplied to fit the Range Rover. This Discovery 200 unit has a galvanised finish for longevity and to withstand Scottish winters however if painted black it would be nearly invisible at first glance. The Defender and Discovery 300 systems have a zinc passivate gold finish.
The Receiver frame fits snugly into the front chassis and the mountings utilize those used by the front bumper along with additional bolts. We supply new bolts and nylock nuts. No drilling is required, however the number plate holder should be removed or adapted and some minor cutting of the front plastic spoiler is required but the action and rigidity is not lost. You can of course remove the spoiler altogether. The frame's design and mountings provide for exceptional strength and far exceeds any suggested use. The Camel Trophy winches are held on with fewer bolts than our 200 system.
The frame provides a central receiver socket (US class III 2" size) for the adapters as well as two shackle points. In an emergency it could be used for Hi-Lift self recovery purposes.
Uses
Hi-Lift Adapter which is made to accept both Hi-Lift and Jackall lifting jacks. It allows for easy front wheel removal. SAFETY Please chock the rear wheels engage low range diff lock apply the handbrake and remove only one wheel at a time. If the jack is applied direct to the frame s front bar then `lift and tilt' self recovery would be possible. The Hi-Lift adapter can be pinned into place in the Receiver as can the jack into the adapter, pins are supplied.
Tow Ball Bracket supplied without the 50mm ball, the bracket allows the fitting of a ball hitch to be easily achieved and then front manoeuvring of vans and trailers is enabled. An optional off set bracket, which can be easily reversed for left or right use, allows the driver to view down one side of the unit as is it is manoeuvred. The straight bracket would also act as a recovery point, please use both the pin and Rclip supplied. SAFETY Kinetic recovery applies many times the pulling force, the Receiver is not designed for these shock forces.
WARN Winch Platform designed for the Warn Z3500 with a single line pull of 3500lbs the winch can be snatch blocked back to the receiver s shackle point thus allowing for 7000lb pull, sufficient for most self recovery purposes. The receiver's mounting far exceeds this line pull and alternative heavier winches would be the WARN M5000 or M8000 or the sleeker X8000i. A rear tow hitch adapter is also available.
