A while back we reviewed the Modular Recovery Device from Marshland Offroad. This superly innovative product gave every Land Rover owner the ability to add extra recovery points to their vehicle with no modifications required. Well now Marshland have incorporated that Modular concept into a range of Heavy Duty bumpers (Fenders)

These Bumpers are a straight replacement of your original bumper but with the added convenience of being pre-drilled to take a whole host of additional recovery points and equipment mounts. (as you can see in the above picture)

Fitting was probaby as simple as it gets, remove the four bolts that hold the existing bumper in place, then fit the new Marshland Bumper with the new bolts supplied, in all it took about 15 minutes from start to finish.

Marshland have spent a lot of research time getting this product just right and everything comes ready to fit, all the holes lined up perfectly and all the (rated) bolts are supplied.

Basically you are getting an extremely heavy duty bumper in either powder coated or galvanised finish.There is a large strengthening plate built in (which holds the front recovery brackets/receivers) and a range of pre-drilled and threaded sockets along the top that can accommodate brackets for carrying Hi-Lift Jacks, number plate brackets, etc (all of which are available from Marshland)

One of the biggest advantages of the Marshland Modular Products is their removable winch sled which is simply secured onto the front recovery eyes using either the bolts supplied or the optional rated Bow Shackles. (see MRD review for further details)

This allows you to quickly and easily remove all your recovery equipment from the front of the vehicle and safely store it away ready for use when you next venture off road. This works just as easily for Hydraulic Winches as it does for Electric ones and will help you to keep your winch longer as those nefarious types will not be able to steal it while it's locked away (as happened to a very unfortunate 110 owner at the LRO show in Peterborough!) Marshland also do a matching receiver plate that can be bolted to the floor inside the back of your Land Rover for safe and secure storage of your winch when not in use

Just remove your winch and hide it away!

The Heavy Duty Modular Recovery Bumper is available for most Land Rover models - including Discoverys and Range Rovers, so if you've got more than one vehicle, just fit a Marshland Bumper to each and you only have to buy one winch, you can just swap it onto the vehicle you want to use.
