Land-Rover Trailers

Southern Trailers specialises in the supply, repair, hire and parts for all trailers. The company has been established for 30 years and is located nr Alton in Hampshire. They have launched a new range of trailers specifically to be towed by Land Rovers, Discoveries etc.

The trailers have been designed to provide a strong, durable trailer, which will be at home on or off road, the higher ground clearance reduces the risk of damage to the axles, brake cables and the likely hood of grounding out.

The trailers use the same wheels as a Land Rover, which means there is no need in most cases to carry a dedicated spare wheel for the trailer.Tyre choice can be matched to the vehicle, although the trailers are all fitted with 205/16 tyres as standard, giving excellent ground clearance for work off road.

It also means that the trailer hitch height matches the height of the towing vehicle without the need for large drop plates, which cause problems off road. A full aluminium treadplate floor reduces the overall weight of the trailer and increases the lifespan of the trailer floor.

The trailers are available in a range of sizes and finishes, standard sizes are 4 feet wide 6 feet long, 4ft x 8ft, 5ft x 8ft 4 inches (pictured) and 5ft x 10ft. All trailers have a 1600kg axle.

There is a choice of finishes, these include painted, powder coating in a variety of colours, or hot dip galvanising. All trailers feature, auto reverse brakes, full lighting, rope hooks and prop stands as standard. Optional extras include waterproof covers and ladder racks can be fitted in the front or the rear of the trailer.
