This month we start a short series all about our favourite fuel: DIESEL!

You can forget all discussions about Land Rover vs Jeep, Permanent 4x4 or Part time 4WD, Leaf Springs vs Coil springs. There is only one important debate Petrol vs Diesel.

Not so long ago if you burnt heavy oil in your engine you were restricted to a smelly life in the slow lane, shunned by society and derided in the motoring press. Some types of 4x4 with diesel powerplants were strong enough to puul a tree out of the ground but had all the performance characteristics of a child's pedal car. BUT you could save loads of cash at the pumps asDiesel was way cheaper than Petrol. Now that's all changed.

Many modern Diesels have more than adequate power and can give the vast majority of Petrol heads a real run for their money. They're quieter, smoother, cleaner and much, much faster.

We'll starrt the series with a brief description of what Diesel is all about, how it works and what to expect when you buy your first Oil Burner.
