Designer Mike Ryan from Cheltenham, has just unveiled his latest creation, the all new Sea Roader. Mike 1st venture into amphibious vehicles started way back in the early eighties with the 'Ryan Streamline' which went on to secure the World record for the longest non-stop distance in an amphibious vehicle. This was followed by the amazing Amphibious Lamborghini which ended up going to Hollywood for film work.
Sea Roader is a fully amphibious 4x4 designed initially, for military and flood area rescue applications.
Sea Roader is based primarily on Range Rover running gear. However, due to it's design just about any 4x4 running gear can be used.
Sea Roader is built with an 'external chassis' being 100x50 mm section. The rest is 16g steel with alloy uppersides. This combination makes the Sea Roader virtually indestructable.
Instead of using the main engine for water propulsion, Sea Roader uses the Beta Marine, Beta 10 auxiliary diesel unit for water propulsion. This amazing little self contained power plant uses under 1 litre of diesel per hour at displacement speed. The Sea Roader can also be driven through the water on the main engine which makes it very safe if any mechanical problems arose.
Again, due to it's unique design, the Sea Roader can be custom built to suit any user requirement.

It was Mikes intention to offer the Sea Roader in kit form but as he states, "I have been inundated with inquires from around the World". "This has included an order for 100 fully built Sea Roaders and even the Taiwanese Police are interested in buying Sea Roaders for rescue vehicles". Talks are now in progress for military applications.
This has forced Mike to a major rethink on Sea Roaders future and as Mike prefers a design and prototype role, it looks likely that a company will be sought to manufacture and market under license. Turn key vehicles and body/chassis kits and indeed custom Sea Roaders will all be available shortly
However in the interim and for a short period the Sea Roader 'Construction Build Data & Plans are available to those wishing to build their own Sea Roader. It is straight forward fabrication with the plans being laid out in A4 easy to read and understand format.
