ISSUE 19

Editor's Comment . . .

Hello - A bit later than usual this month - sorry - There has been such interest in the forthcoming on-line store from various suppliers and other magazines that we've had to divert all our attention to that for a while.

This month we have a veritable feast of new articles and features, TWO new series and more product reviews than ever.

The first new series concerns Tools & Workshop Equipment. So many of us seem to rely on 'donated' ancient tools that we'll probably never know what they were built for in the first place. The saying "there is a tool for every job, and a job for every tool" is a very good one. How many times have you picked something up and said" that will do" This new series will grow to become a truly indispensable guide to tools and equipment.

The second new series covers all those 4x4s that have entered the realms of myth and legend. The 4x4 market is a truly international one and there have been many, many vehicles produced with 4 driven wheels. Sadly many of these fell at the first hurdle and many others were so weird as to never really be taken seriously. Our recent reader competition brought many of these to light and we will be featuring as many as possible over the coming months.

Our latest competition is a more light hearted one, all we need from you is your tales of woe and stories of 'foolish' behaviour whether they involve a 4x or not. The winner of the Difflock Darwin Awards will receive a very useful Rechargeable Hand Lamp. (see product review)

We will be attending four major events before the next issue (early October): Daily Telegraph 4x4 show, The LRO Show, The UK Rhino Charge and the London-Brighton Land Rover Run, hopefully we will see you all there!

Keep Off Roading!

Best Regards
Simon Ward-Hastelow

Given a choice between splitting the atom and undoing the retaining nuts on a Land Rover propshaft, the atom has to be the easy option.
