1.  WHAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE?

1.1.  People kill more deep cycle batteries due to improper charging practices, than die of old age! Recharge as soon as possible after discharge. Keep the battery fully charged to prevent sulfation (Please see Section 11), avoid under and over charging, and follow the battery manufacturer's recommended charging procedures and voltages. (Please see Section 6)

1.2.  Shallower the average discharge, the longer the overall battery life.  (Please see Section 7)

1.3.  Match the charger to the battery type and size it so that it will recharge the battery in an eight to ten hour period.  (Please see Section 6)

1.4.  Remove the surface charge before testing and check specific gravity in each cell. (Please see Section 3)

1.5.  Buy the freshest battery with capacity that best suites your application and has the lowest cost per life cycle.  (Please see Section 4)

1.6.  Perform frequent preventive maintenance, especially during hot weather. (Please see Section 7)

1.7.  Temperature matters! Heat kills deep cycle batteries and cold reduces the available capacity.

1.8.  Wear glasses while working around batteries!
