Bonnet protector for new Defender
By Simon Ward-Hastelow
15th Aug 2007

Scorpion Racing are quick off the mark, as usual, with the first in a new range of products for the 2007 Defender.

The new Defender Bonnet, with its 'power bulge', is one of those love-it-or-loath-it developments. But something about it stays the same as all other previous bonnets: Sooner or later someone is going to stand on it!

This new Chequer Plate serves both to protect the bonnet and add a certain visual enhancement too.

Years ago there was just one flavour of plate: Silver, which, if bought from some cheaper outlets, quickly oxidised. Then came the satin finish plate which held its visual appeal and also reduced reflection and glare. Nowadays everyone wants black.

Scorpion offer the new 2-piece kit in all three finishes which neatly match their standard wing-top protection plates. They also supply all the necessary fittings for DIY installation (I must admit to buying from elswhere in the past then searched around for suitable rivets) Or they offer a fitting service in their North London Workshops.
