Slidetite gets Scrappy
24th May 2007

Slidetite is delighted to be involved in the latest series of Scrapheap Challenge, currently showing on Channel 4.

Pete, Slidetite's owner and inventor instantly identified with the Scrapheap programme. After all he has his very own Scrapheap Challenge, more formally known as “the Lightweight project” sitting on the drive!

Watching a team's dynamo fall off a trailer, bending the main shaft prompted Pete to send the programme some Slidetite kit.

Slidetite certainly created an impression, with Nick Watson, Challenge producer, saying; “We found the Slidetite system good at keeping the scrap secure on the quad trailers and it was easy for the teams to use. The teams are really up against it during filming and health and safety isn't something they worry about. We have to! Using Slidetite meant there was less chance of scrap metal bouncing off and hitting a camera operator or team member. That can only be a good thing, especially these days when ever aspect of the production needs to be covered by risk assessments and then ticked off by the insurers.”

Of  course Slidetite isn't just good at tying down scrap. It seen its fair share of 4x4 expeditions, is used in off-roading and is just as good holding everything in place on the family holiday
