4x4 Gear : Winch & Recovery

BISON Winchline protector
15th Aug 2009

This is a very neat little product that instantly raises the question: "why didn't anyone think of that before?" It might not look like much but it is perfectly designed to cover your precious - and expensive - synthetic winch line.

This could possibly lengthen the life of your synthetic line by keeping it clean and protecting it from harmful UV rays. UV rays have been known to cause premature damage while dirt and mud act like sand paper causing abrasive, unnecessary wear and tear.

Made from an H.D. laminated vinyl that has a fiberglass scrim backing. The scrim offers superior strength and durability. Easy installation and removal. Easy to clean. Uses hook Velcro strips and can be adjusted for custom fit to accommodate different rope diameters.

We fitted one to our Goodwinch TDS winch (fitted with Dyneema Bowrope) and it was adjusted and secured in under a minute. Very easy to fit, very easy to remove. Seems to do exactly as it promises to do.

Available in blue, yellow or silver.

Easily slips around the winchline and is adjustable (can be trimmed) to suit any winchline diameter

Protector closes and secures with velcro to protect your winch line.
