This unit features a gear-type limited slip design (no clutch or friction plates to wear out). Its positive gear action automatically splits the torque with none of the steering problems associated with other traction "diffs". Power transfer is so

smooth that it is unnoticeable through the steering wheel when fitted in front drive steering axles. It performs as a standard differential on normal highway driving - then automatically engages when needed in wet, muddy or icy conditions.
